About 100 job seekers and people searching for training opportunities to advance into manufacturing and transportation careers came to the event.

The Coalition for a South Works CBA would like a commitment to co-facilitate a public meeting in the 7th Ward with the final bidder of the South Works site. The Coalition would like to work together with Alderman Mitchell in order to ensure that the families who built this community can stay in this community and have access to:
- Educational resources
- Job training employment programs that prioritize the hiring of local residents
- Affordable housing available to local residents
- Environmental protections

Thank you, everyone, for attending our Town hall meetings in July with Alderman Holmes in the 7th Ward and in September with a number of public officials. Approximately 150 people attended the July meeting and 300 people attended the last public meeting (standing room only!) to support the Coalition’s CBA. County Commissioner Stanley Moore, State Rep. Marcus Evans, State Rep. Christian Mitchell, and State Rep. Barbara Flynn Currie’s office committed to meetings. The town hall meeting can be viewed at: CAN-TV coverage
